Targeting new Small Business Growth and Development.

So recently on this blog I’ve been talking a lot about new directions for my business and other larger conceptual stuff in that vein suchas . . . if I am to get a business card, what will it say?

And really going into the reasoning behind developing my new premises – basically it’s a brand building space where I can not only co ordinate and present our primary activities such as cd and dvd duplication as well as our general online marketing and branding services, but also cultivate the onselling of other primary services such as colour copying and print, as well apparel such as t-shirts and other promotional products such as stickers.

I talked about the balance between those ideas while keeping other more immediate forms of income open despite showing less rewarding prospects long term.

There’s also another factor coming in though and that is where the movement is happening on my web properties, my website for cheap graphic design is showing real potential Also doing well is my small business promotion site and youtube promotions.

Also, another factor to consider is my own personal development – as I earn more, what makes the most money stops being so important and projects I want to be involved with personally become more pertinant.

So basically the point of this post is to identify the 3 main areas I’m moving forward in outside of my current main 3 earners, cd / dvd duplication, music marketing services and auckland postering and flyers.

The main idea which I discussed at length in the last post was onselling promotional services such as colour copying and print under my brand. What I’m trying to accomplish here is not going to be that challenging in terms of operations, but will require a little bit of marketing and branding muscle, but I’m helped there by having both our established experience with the auckland posters site and the cheap grahic design site that both feed in to the colour copying service.

There’s already infrastructure there but the drawbacks are mainly low profits and will require some marketing effort to get the volume to a point that it is earning significantly.

The second is my childrens pirate theme party and entertainment work, which falls on both sides. It is a somewhat lucrative high margin service for which a ready market exists, but also it is important to me personally that I’m doing this work and developing these skills

The major cons with the pirate stuff is that it is quite disruptive given I have to use my weekend and I’m still warming into which will give me nerves right around when I should be relaxing and taking it easy. But I’m motivated to get through that.

Next as we work down the trail it starts to mix up between what I should do for money and what I should do full stop, which relates to what I really want to be doing and whether I can make money from it so I really want to be working with video, doing more video production and video marketing - but my style and that is cheap.  Video marketing, and building a really strong video brand that I can leverage.
