What will it be, how far will it go?

Now that I’ve hired a third person, the engines are revving and I’m accelerating fast! I’m hungry to get the work knowing I’ve got the depth. I can grab up work and assign the hours, soak them up and push through, growing the organisation.  Now I need the foresight for the 5 year plan.

I can start a small agency.  Because I have complete creative freedom and I have the depth now, I can start getting more ambitious. It won’t happen quickly but the bigger jobs and more of them will come and so it will go.

This was my top end model for the agency?

$9797 = 100 hours development / 200 hours video production / 150 hours video marketing / 150 hours social media

$1500 + 2400 wages / 80 hours worked

I’m not sure what it means now.

Perhaps I was being purposefully cryptic so people wouldn’t work out my business plans.

Total hours is 600. 300 outsourced hours, 80 hours from me, 220 hours in house for $10.90?

110 hours from one for $nz14 p/houe and 110 from another at $nz16 per hour. 27.5 hours per week. Quite alot.

$nz3300, which is more like $2300 us.

but yeah it works out. $5900 for me, which is like $8400. $2100 a week just for being an agency guy 20 hours per week.

I’d need 2 staff just for that. An assistant and a video person. And a staff person in music marketing, maybe I’d need another 15 hours at $225, to cover my 8 clients paying $100 a week each. I would end up with $800 per week anyway.

I’d be making basically $2500 off marketing, and I’d have 70 hours worth of work, which could be 2 or 3 people.

But then I gotta run a space too, and my cd dvd situation etc. It would probably 4 people with a spare tyre or two added to the crew.

The last core person is a video savvy person.

Do I want to be there with my agency and my shop and my four staff? Shop, discs, marketing, and video, assistants, all?

Now what about halfway?

8 artists paying $2000, 1 x 4797

$4797 = 35 hours development / 75 hours video production / 75 hours video marketing / 40 hours social media

$1100 wages / 60 hours worked, 55 in house, 110 outsourced.

that’s like 14 hours for the assistant, and 8 on the artists. 25 hours, $1000 a month. the outsourcers need 110 + 64, 180 say, $900 per month.

That’s $4900 for me, or $7400,  $1850 per week. Pretty sweet.

but wait, $2000 for music, minus $650 for wages and I work 32 hours for 1350

or $4797 for video, minus $1110 for wages and I work 60 hours for 3687

so yeah, doing video is much better. video prices will have to go down, and music marketing up.

that’s 22.5 hours from me a week. Quite a lot really.

I could be doing that in two years.

cd/dvd person, shop person, marketing and video person

lets swap in the other option for video

$1797 = 15 hours scripting / 20 hours video production / 40 hours video marketing = $400 wages / 15 hours worked

$1397 + $1350 $2747, sure only a grand a week, but 12 hours worked? yes please.

totally realistic 2 years too. 13 hours from an assistant per week. Needn’t more than 8 music or video marketing clients and 1 or 2 video campaigns each month.

Meantime we’re all cd dvd, and shop person, and my entertainment brand.

month long campaign cycle model

consultation: 2 hours

blog newsletter and article marketing: 4 hours

video: 2 hours

adwords: 1 hours

3 hours: publicity, social media, design, fan interaction, maintenance
